(More customer reviews)This was my first pair of skates, and for a beginning figure skater, they are excellent value for money, and perform well.The boot provides ample support for beginning skating moves, but also breaks in easily.The blade is easy to control.These were the skates recommended to me by a figure skating pro shop, and I found them to be a great choice.I wore them for nearly two years before upgrading to a higher-level skate.These skates still had plenty of life left in them, and plenty of sharpening left in the blade, but I'd moved up to a higher level and needed something a bit more advanced.These skates did have several downsides.First, the pick on this blade is quite small.I had a hard time really utilizing my pick effectively for pivots and the like (I've since purchased a blade with a larger pick).Second, these boots do not have a tremendous amount of padding.They're fine if you're skating a few hours a week.When you're up to 10-20 hours, it's definitely time to move on.Third, this boot did not grip and stabilize my heel in the way that my higher-level boots do, but again, that's not really a big issue when one is beginning.These skates are marketed as suitable through single jumps, though I'd recommend upgrading before then.In sum, these skates were an excellent value and I got tremendous use out of them when I was a beginning skater (I'm an adult skater, so this is all adult experience).They definitely have their limits, but they'll see you through the basic skills program in a very economical fashion, so that you can then decide if you want to make a bigger investment in a higher-level skate.
