American Athletic 522 Tricot-Lined Ladies Figure Skates Review

(More customer reviews)I took figure skating lessons a couple of years ago, but I eventually quit.Now, I'm planning to start lessons again, but I didn't want to have to use the uncomfortable rental skates at the rink or pay $300 for a name brand pair.I was afraid that these skates would be terrible because they're so cheap, but they're great!They're probably the most comfortable skates I've ever worn, they offer plenty of support for beginner and intermediate figure skaters, and they're 1/15th the price of many skates of the same quality.The laces do come untied easily at first, but eventually, they get worn in.
Make sure to order one size smaller than your regular shoe size.I wear an 8 shoe, and 7 skates were the perfect size.

She's 10 yrs. old and on the small side. They'd probably be too big for a very young child. We haven't actually used them yet, but they fit.

Skaters / Snowboarders Wrist Pads Review

(More customer reviews)Before I say anything about this item I should put forward that I am using them for protection on a unicycle, which could have slightly different needs then a skater.
While they sufficiantly protect my wrists, these are some of the more awkward wrist pads I own. I am not able to make a fist or grab onto the seat of my Uni in these, though I can in other types of wrist gaurds.
The three straps is nice for custom fitting but involves a lot of adjustment and are sometimes more work then they are worth.

For the price, they are good stable wrist pads, but if the price isn't an issue, I would suggest going with a different design.

(More customer reviews)I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these skates at such a reasonable price.I was an avid roller skater in my youth and it has been almost 20 years since I last donned skates.It must be like riding a bike because within minutes I was whipping up and down my driveway.My neighbors will probably forward the footage to You Tube.Anyway, the skates are smooth and quite sturdy.They worked equally well on the pavement as well as inside on my hardwood floors.Skating is so much fun... and great exercise (too fun to FEEL like exercise, however).My 10 year old son was amazed by my turns and backwards skating (as was I).Love, Love, Love these skates.Makes me wonder why I waited so long to get a pair.Happy skating!!!
